Conservation Commission continues beaver dam hearing

Stow defers beaver dam and housing hearings to March 17. The six-member Conservation Commission, led by Chair Matt Styckiewicz, unanimously voted to continue two public hearings: one on the Department of Public Works' plan to install a drawdown pipe through a beaver dam threatening Route 117 Bridge abutments, and another on a two-unit housing development. Assistant Conservation Director Katelyn Putt presented the DPW proposal to use a black corrugated pipe with a wooden board control mechanism to manage flooding without repeated emergency dam removal.
Vice Chair Holly Clack announced her resignation effective April or May due to relocating to Concord.
