Commission issues orders for drawdown pipe and residential development

Stow Conservation Commission unanimously issues Orders of Conditions for a beaver pond drawdown pipe and a two-home residential development. The drawdown project at 22 Johnston Way and 280 Great Road will stabilize pond levels during Potash Brook flooding, with water drops capped at 3 inches in 24 hours to protect wildlife. The Commission approved the MCO & Associates residential project at 0 Randall Road and 0 Wheeler Road after DEP clarifications on wetland buffers and monitoring.
The Commission backed an $8,000 Conservation Fund request, up from $5,000, to enhance Land Steward compensation and make the position more competitive. Matt Styckiewicz was reappointed Chair and Liza Mattison appointed Vice Chair as Holly Clack departs.
