Conservation Commission Defers Lake Boon Project Over Buffer Concerns

Stow Conservation Commission continues Lake Boon dock project review over buffer concerns. The Commission deferred its 168 Barton Road decision after Chair Matt Styckiewicz and Commissioner Liza Mattison questioned the environmental justification for a 200-square-foot deck expansion within the 35-foot no-disturb buffer. Applicant Ryan Proctor, representing James Rippey and Jim Carroll, agreed to explore modifications including reducing the expansion and relocating structures.
The Commission also approved tree removal at 80 Gleasondale Road, a Limited Removal Action excavation at 99 Randall Road for arsenic remediation, and a Randall Woods mitigation planting plan requiring 16 trees and 24 shrubs to replace 28 trees removed. An unknown drainage pipe discovered at the Eversource project held up a partial Certificate of Compliance.
