Commission authorizes Spotted Lanternfly control on conservation land

Stow Conservation Commission authorizes Spotted Lanternfly treatment. The Commission voted unanimously to authorize staff to sign authorization forms from the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources and USDA, enabling eradication activities including dinotefuran, bifenthrin, and horticultural oil spraying on conservation land parcels R2-24 and R3-35 if treatment is deemed necessary. Assistant Director Katelyn Putt noted that declining to authorize would result in the agencies conducting treatment anyway and billing the town for the work.
