Library Trustees approve FY27 budget and shift meeting schedule to second Tuesday

Randall Library Trustees · Meeting of January 13, 2026

STOW — Randall Library Trustees approve FY27 budget and meeting schedule change. The board unanimously backed the preliminary fiscal year 2027 budget presented by co-interim director Sarah Hurtig, which includes a $10,000 increase in materials spending to $20,000 and staffing additions required for the renovated library's mid-March opening. Trustees also voted unanimously to move their standing monthly meeting to the second Tuesday of each month to allow directors more time to compile monthly statistics.

A donor event planning subgroup reported catering costs around $9,000, exceeding the board's $5,000 cap for all opening expenses, and said it will explore less expensive alternatives. The director search narrowed to two remaining finalists after four initial candidates were screened and two withdrew.
