Nashoba Regional's fall sports teams, which include Stow athletes, enter the week with a 4-0 field hockey squad and three other undefeated or one-loss programs, according to an update given to the School Committee.
STOW -- Stow does not operate its own comprehensive high school; Stow students attend Nashoba Regional High School, and the only high school activity reported this period came through a student representatives' report delivered to the Nashoba Regional School Committee on Sept. 23.
HIGH SCHOOL -- Student representatives told the committee that Nashoba Regional's fall teams have had a strong start. The football team won its home opener. The golf team carries an 8-1 record. Boys soccer defeated Groton-Dunstable to improve to 4-1-1, and girls soccer played to a tie against a team the representatives called strong, moving to 2-1-1. Volleyball traveled to North Middlesex for a league matchup the day of the meeting. The cross country program, with both teams unbeaten at 2-0, defeated Leominster while marking senior day. Field hockey, undefeated at 4-0, was scheduled to play Leominster at 7 p.m. the night of the meeting. Representatives also said the school's unified basketball program was set to begin practice the following week, with game dates to be announced.
No Stow Recreation Department, youth league, or community sports updates were reported in this period beyond material already covered in prior weeks.
