Stow Posts Level 3 Critical Drought Alert, Flags Barton Road Closure

STOW — The town's website is featuring a prominent Level 3 Critical Drought alert atop its homepage this week, directing residents to the town's Alert Center and Notify Me system for the latest guidance as the summer dry spell continues.

TOWN HALL

Town Hall's alert banner listing "LEVEL 3 CRITICAL DROUGHT INFORMATION" remains the most visible notice on the town's site, with a link to the full Alert Center for residents seeking current water-use guidance. No additional detail on specific restrictions was posted alongside the banner.

Separately, Town Hall issued a road closure notice for Barton Road; no additional detail on timing or duration was available in the posting. Construction also continues on the Crescent Street Sidewalk Project, where work on new sidewalks began July 2 and remains underway.

The town also marked a milestone this month, posting a notice highlighting 25 years of Community Preservation Act funding in Stow and the projects the program has made possible locally. Town Hall additionally released its July 2026 Municipal Message newsletter, rounding up department updates for residents.
