Stow Conservation Commission approves major PFAS remediation at fire training facility. The commission issued an Order of Conditions for excavation of approximately 6,400 square feet of wetland at 664 Sudbury Road, targeting soil with elevated per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance concentrations traced to historical disposal practices at the Department of Fire Services campus. The approved project requires an invasive species management plan to be developed prior to construction and monitoring during a two-year post-construction period.
The commission also approved residential environmental determinations for properties at 59 Great Road, 32 Mitchell Road, and 105 Barton Road.
