Stow Select Board imposes three-day liquor license suspension on Wedgewood Country Club. At a July 15 hearing, the Board voted unanimously to suspend the license for August 20-22 following alleged service of alcohol outside licensed premises. Club owner Joe Pittorino testified to a $275,000 investment in safety improvements and a 33-year history without incident.
Select Board Member Brian Patuto noted the Board had informed the club of deficiencies in permitting as far back as October, characterizing the situation as "serious, serious breakdowns." The club will bear the cost of a Stow Police detail officer during the suspension. The Board also voted 4-1 to provisionally amend the license to include outdoor areas, with a final public hearing scheduled for August 25. ===END BRIEF===
