Select Board · Meeting of April 14, 2026

STOW — Select Board advances FY2027 budget and warrant with no overrides needed. The $39.2 million General Fund budget increases 4.22 percent over FY2026, with the municipal side rising 5.94 percent due to implementation of a salary reclassification plan approved in fall 2025. Town Administrator Denise M.

Dembkoski noted Stow is among the few Massachusetts municipalities avoiding a Proposition 2 1/2 override in FY2027, and stressed the town has reached the 25 percent funded benchmark for its OPEB liability. The Board unanimously ratified a three-year firefighters contract featuring a larger first-year wage increase to bring compensation to regional median levels, 4 percent annual increases in years two and three, and approximately $40,000 for turnout gear replacement for seven union members, with all financial impacts incorporated into the balanced budget.
