Stow Select Board authorizes deficit spending for snow and ice as 36.25 inches fall since December. Chair Megan Birch-McMichael and members voted unanimously to exceed the FY 2026 snow and ice budget, with Town Administrator Denise M. Dembkoski reporting the Department of Public Works had consumed over 900 tons of salt and 240 hours of overtime work since December 1.
A weekend storm alone dumped 17.5 inches, leaving the budget account with approximately $14,057 before recent payroll deductions. The Board also unanimously appointed Richard Piccarreto to the Stow Municipal Affordable Housing Trust and Andrew DeMore to the Veterans Graves Committee, and approved in-person early voting May 11-13 for the May 16 annual town election.
