STOW — Planning Board unanimously concludes public hearing on Masters Academy basketball pavilion project. The board voted to close the hearing for the 38,000-square-foot facility at 688 Great Road after the applicant addressed peer-review comments on traffic, drainage, and site operations; the project could expand to 56,000 square feet in a full build. Planning Director Valerie Oorthuys outlined new state housing law amendments that expand variance standards and permit residential use in non-residential zones, prompting concern about reduced local zoning control and increased variance requests.
The board will hold a public hearing August 4 on draft Stormwater Management Rules and Regulations.
