Planning Board approves traffic data contract and Bruen Road 40B letter

Planning Board · Meeting of May 19, 2026

Stow Planning Board funds traffic data platform and Bruen Road 40B comment letter. Chair Lori Clark and the Board voted unanimously to allocate $1,200 toward the first year of a $9,500 Urban SDK traffic speed and volume contract, with annual price increases capped at 2.5 percent; the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee and Police and DPW departments funded the balance. The Board also approved a revised comment letter to MassHousing on the Bruen Road Comprehensive Permit development, strengthening language around nitrogen-reducing septic systems and water quality protections after members raised concerns about septic density in the Water Resource Protection Overlay District and proximity to the Maynard water reservoir.

Planning Director Valerie Oorthuys confirmed the Board would notify Maynard as a courtesy; members also elevated data center regulation to rank 7 on the work plan and rescheduled Common Driveway Covenant approval for 70 Walcott Street pending applicant revisions to foreclosure and contractor-hiring language.
