Planning Board approves reorganization; continues Masters Academy pavilion hearing.
Planning Board · Meeting of June 9, 2026
STOW — Planning Board re-elects Lori Clark as Chair, Karen Kelleher as Vice Chair. The Board heard Masters Academy International's proposal for a 38,000 square-foot basketball pavilion at 688 Great Road with two interior and two outdoor courts, seating for approximately 350, and a planned maximum height of 35 feet. Traffic analyst Michael Santos projected up to 280 peak weekend trips from the pavilion and 100 trips from athletic fields under worst-case simultaneous conditions, though Peter Masters noted the school's actual ratio of 75 percent boarding to 25 percent day students is substantially lower than the conservative 70 percent commuting assumption in the 2024 Phase I traffic study.
The Board voted unanimously to determine that a proposed gatehouse and access-road modification do not qualify as a minor amendment and will be reviewed together with the pavilion in a continued hearing scheduled for June 23 at 7:15 PM; the applicant committed to submitting a photometric plan, earth removal volumes, and construction logistics before the next session.
