Planning Board approves hammerhead lot project after stormwater bylaw review.
Planning Board · Meeting of April 14, 2026
STOW — Planning Board approves two-lot hammerhead project while advancing stormwater bylaw. The Board voted unanimously 5-0 to accept the amended draft decision for 70 Walcott Street, which includes conditions preventing further subdivision and strengthening Conservation Commission compliance language. Planning Director Valerie Oorthuys reported the proposed stormwater management bylaw aligns with EPA requirements and sets a 32,000 square foot Erosion Control threshold for Planning Board review and 40,000 square feet for stormwater permits, ensuring coordinated review across DPW, Conservation, and Planning departments with enforcement through the Planning Board.
The Board voted 4-0 to close the public hearing on the Auto Service and Tire Repair Shop at 124 Great Road after the applicant's attorney presented an alternative argument that existing canopies meet the 30-foot setback requirement; deliberation and voting are scheduled for a future meeting.
