Planning Board approves ANR plan for 70 Walcott Street after frontage correction.

Planning Board · Meeting of May 5, 2026

Stow Planning Board approves revised ANR subdivision plan while continuing hearings on controversial tree restriction and mixed-use development. The board unanimously endorsed the 70 Walcott Street plan after applicants corrected a frontage measurement from 65.02 to 55.02 feet; Planning Director Valerie Oorthuys noted the town awaited written Board of Health septic approval confirmation. In separate actions, the board continued a special permit modification hearing for 38 Hiley Brook Road to June 9 to conduct a site visit regarding removal of a 60-foot no-cut easement on mature trees, and continued the Hemenway Farm subdivision hearing to June 16 after approving six regulatory waivers.

The board unanimously supported a Local Initiative Program application letter for the Bird Meadow Cottages affordable housing project at 144 Red Acre Road, designed by the Stow Municipal Affordable Housing Trust with local resident preference provisions.
