Open Space Committee sets priorities on farm housing and land issues

STOW — Open Space Committee approves prior minutes, sets farm housing as top priority. The seven-member panel voted unanimously to advance three action items for 2026: creation of agricultural worker housing through potential Community Land Trust models and zoning changes; resolution of an unfiled homeowners association on Kettle Plain Drive requiring neighborhood input; and continued monitoring of Rock Bottom Farm. The committee also discussed plans to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Stow's Community Preservation Committee, which was adopted in 2001 as the eighth community in the Commonwealth and received 100 percent state matching funds in its opening seven years.
Bob Wilber will request American Farmland Trust participation at the February 18 meeting to advise on agricultural housing implementation.
