Capital Planning reviews fire truck request, Council on Aging vehicle needs

STOW — Capital Planning Committee reviewed FY27 capital requests from Fire & Rescue and Council on Aging. Chief Barry Evers presented a $1,051,640 Engine 12 fire truck request for a 2004 vehicle that is being retired; the new apparatus will serve as the front-line truck and has a three-year delivery timeline. Council on Aging Director Alyson Toole requested $30,000 for a replacement minivan, citing heavy usage: 185 residents use the van fleet on a regular basis, with an aging 2005 vehicle currently in service.
