STOW — Capital Planning reviews five-year infrastructure plan. The committee reviewed capital requests from Planning and Recreation departments for fiscal years 2027 through 2031. The Planning Department's FY27 Town Center Traffic and Pedestrian Safety project was revised to $350,000, down from $450,000, and encompasses sidewalks, shared use paths, and traffic signals; V.
Oorthuys noted the town must contribute 10 to 15 percent of costs. The Recreation Department requested $19,000 for a Stow Community Park security camera system. Committee members raised privacy concerns about facial recognition and children's faces, with E.
DeLuca emphasizing the need for town-controlled data encryption. Additional recreation requests included $14,500 for a mower, $6,500 for a trailer, $35,000 for a well filter system, and $25,000 each for court resurfacing.
